Sloth Bear
Bear is a great climber. It can climb huge rocks, tall mountains, thick trees, big lamppost & pillars & as long as its grip over the wall is set. It cannot climb thin& weak stems. But whenever it finds any food or any person or its predator hidden on thin trees, then it shakes the tree violently so as to befall the person, predator, food (fruits) ants & termites etc from it.
Secondly it cannot walk on slippery stones as its nails don’t support it to from a grip there. In search of food it can even move big rocks upside down & topsy turvy to find insects residing underneath it & have a meal of such insects.
It has a great liking for honey in order to eat honey; it uses its climbing skills up to the fullest & leaves no stone unturned to have it. Whether it be huge tall threes or massive rocks, it climbs them all & tries its best to reach the spot. In the season of berry fruit, it gets through the houses via villages covering a great & long distance, to get it.  It starts circumambulating the trees whole night during the season of Mahuda, black berry & Timru fruit.
Usually it starts searching for its food right from the evening and sometimes has its food throughout the day or whole night under the tree.
It eats the ants & termites residing hidden inside the barks of dried trees after climbing such trees, because of its weight the dried trees many times fells down & it too falls but that does it makes any difference to it.
Search for Water
During summer when it’s too hot, it tries to find out water and food even by digging a dried and arid rivers/ ponds up to its base in the forest areas.
It uses maximally all the naturally occurring water resources of the forest up to full extent. While going to & fro from its habitat (home) it definitely stops to drink water.
It also utilizes man made water basins, ponds, wells etc. whenever required. It enjoys sitting in the water but doesn’t remain there for long. After coming out of the water body, it doesn’t try to dry its self by brushing it off instead walk a head for circumlocution with its wet body.
It drinks water remaining at the steps of the pond but sometimes its goes inside the pond with its half body outside and half inside. It remains quite alert while drinking water. Only with a slight noise it gets freaked out and runs from there.
It focuses much towards the steps while drinking water from the water basis. That is it keeps its most of the back portion inside the water and then drinks it, so that during any emergency it can walk ahead with its front portion to climb up the stairs and run away.
